Mini Review: Unwind (1-3)

Unwind (Unwind, #1)UnWholly (Unwind, #2)UnSouled (Unwind, #3)

This series is by far one of the most disturbing series, one of the most disturbing dystopians I’ve ever read.

In this book people can be Unwound, if they’re under 18, I believe, but it’s been a while. That is a process where they essentially take apart your entire body and harvest the parts and store them until someone needs that body part.

There is a chapter in the first book, which goes through the ENTIRE Unwinding processes, it’s literally just that kid being unwound and he’s conscious so he knows what’s happening.

Pretty disturbing.

There are three factors into deciding if you want to be unwound, you could be a ward of the state and they don’t have room for you anymore (like Risa), you could be a trouble kid and your parents sign off on it (like Connor), or you could be a tithe like Lev was and do it willingly for religious reasons.

It is the WEIRDEST book I’ve ever read.

Not really scary, just has that creepy factor to it, it’s one of those books I think is pretty cool. I enjoy the characters, especially enjoy the challenges of them, not to mention you learn more about Unwinding as the series progresses and I haven’t read the last book yet, but there is a MAJOR twist at the end of the third that made me want to vomit a little bit.

Would totally suggest (and sometimes do) to a sci-fi or dystopian fan. It’s pretty amusing and scary all at the same time.

3-4 stars all around!

Peace and love!
